About
Velvet Moon is an acoustic-pop duo from Sweden - comprising singer-songwriter, Sandra Bjurman, and producer, Stefan Örn - who originally met through a mutual friend in 2006 and later worked together whilst collaborating with the composer and producer, Anders Bagge. Since then, Sandra and Stefan have focused their time on working with artists such as Louise Hoffsten, Y’Akoto, Eric Saade and Loreen, as well as writing songs for the musician, tattoo artist and TV personality, Kat Von D, and composing Eurovision-winning tracks such as “Running Scared” in 2011 (alongside six other tracks that have also featured in Eurovision finals). The duo’s musical inspiration comes from “real life” - from their own interactions, from biking or walking in the countryside, from watching movies or reading books - “it’s all around and sometimes you just hear it from within”. More recently, Sandra and Stefan have been writing for their own project, Velvet Moon, and in July 2018, they released their debut album, Queen of Hearts. This captivating album features nine folk-influenced, acoustic-pop tracks that all epitomize the duo’s sharp sense for melody and production.
