Lofi maestro Guustavv is reimagining the jazz quartet. Across the four tracks of his instrumental EP “Pysig,” the Seattle producer wafts sax melodies and piano splashes that range in style from Ellington to Monk-ish jazz-blues over 21st-century drums—digitized hats, woodblocks, and other percussive strokes. One thing that “Pysig” has in common with a 1930s 33-RPM LP on which some of these jazz stylings may have once appeared is the vinyl artifacts crackling in the background. Like a vinyl, Time is a flat circle.
