Michelle Ross is a violinist, composer, and multi-instrumental improviser known for her expressive approach to classical music and her exploration of new creative landscapes. A protégé of Itzhak Perlman, Michelle has built a multidisciplinary career spanning solo performance, composition, collaboration, and improvisation. Her acclaimed project Discovering Bach: Complete Violin Sonatas & Partitas explores the timeless works of Bach through a contemporary lens, while her collaboration with Jon Batiste on WE ARE was recognized with a GRAMMY Award for Album of the Year and a nomination for Best Contemporary Classical Composition. From Baroque repertoire to electronic experimentation, Michelle collaborates across genres and mediums, working with musicians, dancers, visual artists, and ensembles around the world. Her work reflects a deep curiosity for the possibilities of the violin as both a traditional and boundary-pushing instrument.
