No. The music in Epidemic Sound’s catalog is written and recorded by real artists. AI helps tools like Assistant, Adapt, and Studio find, edit, and sync music in your content and projects.
However, Epidemic Sound’s Voices tool generates AI-powered voiceovers. These are based on the work of professional voice actors, who all receive upfront payment and ongoing usage bonuses.
Do I need a paid plan to use the Epidemic Sound MCP Server?
No. You can connect and search for free. Downloading music and using it in your content and projects requires an active, paid Epidemic Sound subscription. You can still search and preview tracks with a free trial.

What do I do if I receive an authentication error?
Check you’re logged in at epidemicsound.com, then remove and re-add the connector. If you’re working with Claude Code, your API key may have expired. If you’re still experiencing issues, email the MCP team at mcp@epidemicsound.com.
Can I use the Epidemic Sound MCP Server with Claude Code in the terminal?
Yes. Claude Code authenticates with an API key rather than one-click login. Generate an API key in your account settings, set it as an environment variable, and register the MCP Server with a single command. For more information, click here.
How does signing in work for a team, and does it support single sign-on?
You connect with your existing Epidemic Sound account. If your organization signs in through single sign-on on the web product, the same single sign-on authenticates the MCP Server. Some organizations also ask IT to approve new connectors before anyone can add them, so if the connector does not appear, check with your IT team.
Does using the MCP Server change our licensing or usage terms?
No. The MCP Server is a new way to reach your Epidemic Sound account, not a new license. Whatever your active subscription already covers, for use and for monetization, stays exactly the same. There is nothing new to buy to start.
We have more than one workspace. Which one does the MCP Server use?
It uses the first workspace you joined. If your team works across several workspaces, keep that in mind when connecting, since downloads and licensing follow that workspace.
Why can’t I use the Voices tool with the Claude connector?
The listed Epidemic Sound MCP in the Claude connector directory doesn’t include the Voices feature. If you want to use Voices, add a custom Epidemic Sound connector in one click.
