About

Jenny co-started the indie group First Floor Power at the end of the last century. In 2003, Wilson made a guest appearance on The Knife's album Deep Cuts. She and Karin Dreijer sang a duet on the song ""You Take My Breath Away"". She has also collaborated with artists such as Robyn, El Perro Del Mar and Tensta Gospel Choir. From 2005 onwards, she began performing with her sister Sara Wilson. In 2005, Jenny Wilson released her first solo album Love and Youth on the Dreijers' record label Rabid Records and received a Grammy nomination for Female Artist of the Year in 2006. In February 2009, the album Hardships! was released on her own label Gold Medal Recordings. In 2013, her fourth solo album Demand the Impossible was released, which addresses both her experiences with cancer and a strong criticism of today's social climate. For the album, Wilson was nominated for seven Grammy Awards in 2014, including in the categories for Artist of the Year, Album, Composer and Lyricist. She won three, in the categories Album of the Year, Producer of the Year and Music Video of the Year. Wilson continued her consistent work of drawing material and inspiration from her own contemporary life experiences on the album Exorcism (2018), which features experiences and after-effects of a rape. 2025 saw the release of the follow-up EP, Fantasy Finally Forever. Apart from her solo albums, Wilson has composed music for several projects in TV & Film as well as the stage.
