About
GhostwriterMel is a Nigerian genre-blending soul artist whose music exists at the intersection of emotion, memory and rebellion. Rooted in soul and shaped by Alternative Pop, R&B, Dancehall and Afro-fusion, her sound moves fluidly across genres while remaining grounded in honest storytelling and feeling. Her journey began with writing poetry in secondary school, eventually evolving into songwriting that explores love, identity, ambition and personal growth. Through her music, GhostwriterMel transforms lived experiences into intimate stories, creating songs that feel both deeply personal and universally relatable. Originally sharing music online, she later returned as GhostwriterMel—a name that reflects her ability to write from different perspectives, emotions and versions of herself. As she explains, “I’m my own ghostwriter,” capturing the way her songs can represent both who she has been and who she is still becoming. With a catalogue spanning Afro-pop, R&B and alternative sounds, GhostwriterMel continues to explore themes of desire, vulnerability, self-discovery and transformation. Her music captures the energy of Lagos while creating space for reflection, inviting listeners to find pieces of their own stories within hers. GhostwriterMel is less interested in fitting into a single genre than in expressing the full range of human experience—music that feels raw, soulful and unmistakably her own.
