On “See Thru,” he’s back to making mischief over hard trap drums and wicked piano. “Hennessy and horchata, baby girl wearing nada,” he raps. On the B-side “Residual,” woodblock snare and minor-key synth arp seem to orbit him like a satellite, suggesting a nocturnal scene in which Xavy buys up assets, stacks profits, and “rolls a J with the hate mail.” “Residual” is all about Xavy’s hustler’s mentality; If he’s investing in anything, it’s himself.
