About
Resonant Circuits is the Lo-Fi/Chill Hop moniker of Jannik Jivung, a music producer originally from Hamburg now based in Malmö. Deeply influenced by the nostalgic power of 80s music as well as 2000s indie pop Jivung dedicated the second half of his 20s to learning every aspect of making music. As a self taught producer collaborating with artists like Dougy Mandagi (The Temper Trap, BLOODMOON), Per Hammar or Amistat, each collaboration offered a new key insight on music creation continuously adding to and improving his skill set and ability to 'make the best art I can'. In 2024 came the opportunity to create the soundtrack for a documentary series on high lining by Canadian outdoor sports collective Inbound. Jivung's ‚Above The Ground‘ EP caught the attention of British Chillout Label Hiyasu Cuts who approached him with a music request. This would be Jivung's first contact with the chill beats genre and it marked an epiphany on his journey as a creator. Drawing from his background of making pop and electronica his fresh approach to crafting beats found immediate resonance in the Lo-Fi community leading to Resonant Circuits reaching over 400000 streams across platforms within six months from the first release. Making Lo-Fi wasn't planned from the beginning but Jivung's philosophy in life is to stay true to the path that resonates with you and let it guide you towards new directions and Resonant Circuits feels just like the beginning of a new exciting chapter of his musical journey.
