About
Swedish musician Johan Landqvist is a composer for film & TV and trailers, songwriter, producer, pianist, musical director&conductor, and arranger/orchestrator. Educated at the Royal Academy of Music in Stockholm. His prolific career spans over more than three decades. Johan has worked in productions that have included, amongst others, the Swedish Royal Family, Andrea Boccelli, Lea Michelle, Loren Allred, John Cleese, Lionel Richie, Il Divo, Leona Lewis, Seal, Paul Carrack, Jay Graydon, ABBA's Bjorn & Benny, QUEEN's Brian May & Roger Taylor. Johan was the bandleader for Sweden's longest running live TV show, which aired for over 20 years and boasted an audience of 3.5 million viewers, and has been leading bands and orchestras in many different TV-shows the last 35 years. Johan was also a member of Peer Astro’s music producer team which created the music productions for FOX television’s world-wide smash hit GLEE. He was also part of the same team as arranger/producer and score composer for FOX’s live televised music show THE PASSION in 2016, He has composed theme music and scores for numerous Scandinavian Television series and game shows as well as musical scores for Hollywood film trailers, mainly through LA film composer Jeff Rona,who was one of Hans Zimmers close colleagues at his Mediaventures studios in Santa Monica in the 90´s. Johan has also conducted many musical productions including: ”The Producers”, ”The Sound Of Music”, ”Rent”, ”Mamma Mia!”, ”The Addams Family”, and ”We Will Rock You” to name a few. He got the job as the Musical Director for Queens musical after auditioning for the original members of Queen; Brian May and Roger Taylor. One of his proudest achievements has been to lead and accompany the orchestra celebrating the Swedish Crown Princess Victoria’s annual televised birthday celebration for 15 years. In sept 2023 Landqvist led his own orchestra when the king of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf was celebrated with a big concert on national television after 50 years on the throne. In dec 2024 he arranged, orchestrated and produced the music for the Nobel Prize dinner devertissements.
