About
Balbi is a San Juan, born and raised, producer, musician, and engineer who bridges Puerto Rico and NYC’s musical worlds. A Columbia University Computer Music Center alumnus, he cut his teeth first as a touring drummer and later engineering and producing in New York City, working with artists including Kanye West, Lady Gaga, KRS-One, Damian Marley, O.A.R., Cultura Profética and many more. Immersed in Puerto Rico’s emerging artist scene, Balbi has helped cultivate a wave of artists who went on to global success. He has produced records, concerts and television projects for Universal Music Group, Sony Music, The Orchard, Live Nation, AEG Presents, Roc Nation, Tidal and CBS. His production work has been highlighted by Rolling Stone in features about top Spanish‑language albums and artists to watch. Recently returned to Puerto Rico, Balbi continues producing records, staging live shows and mentoring the island’s next generation of artists.
