Los Angeles-based producer BLUE STEEL busts out the guitar on “Turbo,” the second and final release ahead of his motorsport-themed EP “Nitro.” Leaping octaves, he channels grunge in the lower register and the fizz of pop-punk in the upper register. Filtering these styles through the idiom of contemporary hip-hop, he delivers an instrumental that captures the type of excitement only the speedway can offer.
