Slowya.roll’s synth-bass—supple, woody, virtuosic—is the star of his house instrumental “Crystal Bloom.” Slowya actually launches into a full-on bass solo at one point. The exultant melodic runs up from the lower register continue on “Lens Flare,” the second half of this double-single; the track’s darker tone and slow build give it a more dramatic flavor than “Crystal Bloom.” By the end of “Lens Flare,” the track is firing on all cylinders and Slowya has a triple helix of synth melodies flowing at once.
