“Success or Death” is the debut release from the Chinese-born film composer and recent Eastman School of Music graduate Ruiqi Zhao. The title track is an epic operatic composition fit for the silver screen. Using a broad variety of note articulations to affect mood shifts, “Success or Death” is full of drama and pathos and is proof that Zhao is a talent to be reckoned with.
