Strange Place

Brooklyn-based hip hop producer Dylan Sitts explores atmospherics on his 3-track project “Strange Place.” Sitts gently cloaks his mixes in a reverb, so that blown-out 808s seem like missives from the deep and the entire project evokes a pensive dreamstate. On each track, Sitts balances synths with some organic melodic element. The title track swirls negative space around upper-register guitar flutters; “New Alarm Clock” circulates acoustic guitar arpeggios; and “Bender” pitches up a descending female vocal wisp.
