“Starpower” is a rainbow of guitar colors, from the electrified bossa groove (bottled Ipanema sunshine!) of the opening track “R&R” to the Warped Tour energy of the pop-punk title track to the loping acoustic country melody of the closer “TNT.” Between Blue Steel’s affinity for the guitar and his technical prowess when it comes to drum programming, “Starpower” showcases his ability to create one big moment after another.
