Dancing Fingers

"Dancing Fingers" is a composition inspired by the great tradition of tabla solo in north Indian classical music. The backing melody is set in the Hemavati scale and is fused together by the percussion and strings to create a dreamy, floating sound. Palace on Wheels' Stian Grimstad tells us that the focus of the song 'is on the dancing fingers of the tabla player performing several compositions in the rhythmic cycle of teental'.
