Assistant is your AI-powered soundtracking sidekick. Built to search Epidemic Sound’s catalog of world-class artists, it’s a chatbot that helps you explore new creative directions. Find next-level tracks and sound effects for your project, directly in the chat.

Assistant can handle broad or specific requests to find music and sound effects for nearly any situation. It understands the nuances of music and mood, and speaks all of the languages supported by Google Gemini.

That means there’s no more struggling to find the right filter, musical term, or exact keyword combination. Assistant is like having a personal music supervisor on hand.

Fine-tune your search with natural language. For example, you can write “give me more like ‘Song Title’” or “make it more energetic,” if that’s what you want. There’s no need for technical, music-theory language.

Below the range of tracks, Assistant also suggests next steps. Feel free to explore those and find new sounds.

Tips for using Assistant

Here’s how to get the most out of Assistant.

A broad keyword like “epic” can mean different things. Assistant may suggest tracks labeled with categories like “Cinematic Epic,” “Action Epic,” “Inspirational Epic”...there’s a lot of epic material in the catalog.

You can listen to the suggested tracks directly within the chat. If you’d like to explore one level deeper, you can ask Assistant to give you more tracks in that direction.

2. Explore Assistant’s clickable directions

As well as tracks and sound effects, Assistant suggests clickable directions to help you move forward. For example, it could prompt you to explore more tracks in the “Cinematic Epic” category, or to try tracks with a higher tempo.

3. Try smaller, quick tweaks

Because Assistant knows the Epidemic Sound catalog inside-out, it understands smaller, subtler prompts. Try asking for “heavier drums” or “catchier vocals” — Assistant knows what you’re talking about.

4. Get to know how Assistant thinks

Assistant gives you an explanation alongside its suggestions. If you use Assistant often enough, you’ll become familiar with its rationale, and can use that knowledge to speed up your searches going forward.

For example, when asked for something “epic, but like Billie Eilish,” Assistant replied:

“You asked for something ‘epic, but like Billie Eilish.’ I’ve interpreted this as music that combines a grand, impactful sound with the dark, atmospheric, and often vocal-driven style reminiscent of Billie Eilish. I focused on a ‘Dark Electro-Pop Epic’ direction, looking for tracks with dramatic and mysterious moods, featuring electronic sounds and vocal elements.”

5. Remember to use plain language

“I need upbeat piano tracks for a product launch video” is a perfect first prompt. If you’d like to drill down into the details, expand on things like:

  • Genre
  • Instruments
  • Vibe
  • Scene
  • Reference track
  • The purpose of the project
  • More keywords

The more context you give, the better Assistant’s results.

6. Some prompts to get you started

Not sure how to start prompting Assistant? Here are a few examples to try:

  • Music for a video about traveling to Sweden during the Midsommar holiday
  • I need electronic music for a romantic comedy set in outer space
  • A new theme song for my true crime podcast
  • Sound of a door slamming shut
  • Horses running across a field
  • Ambient background texture to build suspense
  • Vampire emptying dishwasher (It works surprisingly well!)
