About
Jay Taylor is a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who studied at the Leeds Conservatoire, where they trained in writing and performing indie folk and chamber pop. Jay received the Wolfson Grant and the Conservatoire Award while studying guitar there, and trained orchestral instincts birthed while playing in the National Youth Orchestra, writing for larger and larger ensembles. Since then, Jay has been following that impulse, writing orchestral and ambient works and experimenting across a wide range of genres to create a unique blend of sonic palettes. An in-demand session player, Jay's performance credits include everything from shoegaze and modern folk to hyperpop and spiritual jazz, with performances showcased internationally on radio and TV features. Upcoming projects include a credits song for a feature film by award winning writer Sarah Grant, and an appearance as Musical Director at The Carriageworks, Leeds UK.
