About

Eva Hummingbird is a 1940s violinist, composer and singer. She is also a British double agent, working undercover in the heart of WW2 Paris. It is too dangerous to process her emotions on paper, or in conversation, so she expresses through her music. Whilst she longs to be back on stage in London’s underground jazz clubs, her lonely reality is a stark contrast. We as the listener are the only witnesses to her inner world. Eva Hummingbird is the alter ego project of Ceskie, a multi-instrumentalist, producer and artist. Written during Covid-19, she embodies the strength and boldness Ceskie wished for during this time, and during her school years. Inspired by the stories told by her grandparents, her world is set against the oppressive backdrop of WW2. Eva’s story is one of fearlessly being yourself, no matter the expression: music, fashion or love. She is freed through her music: through her ‘humming’ she becomes the ‘bird’. This quote from Henry Van Dyke sums up the Hummingbird world: Use what talents you possess, for the woods would be very silent, if no birds sang there except those who sang best. (((Ceskie has written for artists ranging from Ed Sheeran, Vibe Chemistry, Kehlani, recorded and performed for Lizzie McAlpine, Jacob Collier, Prince William. Her sounds have soundtracked David Yurman feat. Michael B Jordan, Carlos Alcarez at Wimbledon, Virgin Active. She is a Berklee College of music grad.)))
