He’s on ten: Behind Nbhd Nick’s wild Sidemen sync
Epidemic Sound’s artists make our company sing. Join New York rapper Nbhd Nick to discuss the Sidemen and his latest viral hit, I’m on Ten.
When someone says “green light,” they usually mean go. Hit it. Pedal to the metal, foot to the floor. For Nbhd Nick, whose track, I’m on Ten, just went viral, it’s all those things and more.
I’m on Ten recently featured in a video by the Sidemen, blasting its brash, restless beats to the YouTube collective’s 22 million subscribers. Soundtracking a pivotal scene, Nbhd Nick’s bars aren’t just background noise — they create the moment.
The song’s so well-integrated, some viewers thought it was written by the Sidemen’s resident rapper, KSI. It’s easy to see why, given that the track rips. As Nbhd Nick himself puts it:
“I’m on Ten is a full-throttle, all gas, no brakes record. It’s about coming from the bottom, learning from losses, and turning every setback into fuel. This is the soundtrack for victory mode.”
The sync boosted Nbhd Nick’s Spotify streams by 5,600%, but this isn’t his first win. He’s also scored Stephen Curry’s hype reel, and his music has amassed 55 billion plays across YouTube and TikTok. With more than 137 million streams across DSPs, his reach is undeniable.
Fresh from his Sidemen sync, we sat down with Nbhd Nick to unpick I’m on Ten’s success.
If this sync moment had a headline, what would it be?
Nbhd Nick: “GREEN LIGHT, LET’S GET IT.” Simple as that. This sync moment is as big as the storyline for the record. We’re here for now and forever, and this record is the soundtrack.”
The Sidemen have a massive, global audience. What do you hope their fans take away from hearing your track?
Nbhd: “I hope they discover who Nbhd Nick is, dive deep into the catalog, and get lost. I’ve been fortunate enough to build a large variety of records with Epidemic Sound, and I believe that there’s a soundtrack for everyone. I hope whoever finds me, finds their soundtrack.”
What’s the wildest or funniest reaction you’ve seen since the Sidemen video dropped?
Nbhd: “I saw a comment telling KSI to release the record, assuming it was his song. It’s funny, because I understand the power in this sync and can laugh at a comment like that instead of getting upset. I mean, come on…it was shot like a music video with someone who does music, but it wasn’t his song — rare!
“I’m just happy they kept the lyrics. That speaks to the power of that song, because without the words, the inspiration from that video doesn’t come to life.”
What’s one thing Sidemen fans might be surprised to learn about you?
Nbhd: “That I’ve followed Sidemen for years. Before the level of fame — early days, where they used to just do crossbar competitions with their boys. It’s always cool when you get a sync with something you liked before the sync.”
If you could collaborate with the Sidemen crew on anything — music, video, content — what would it be?
Nbhd: “‘D: All of the above.’ Being able to collaborate on such a large platform would be a win. Music, video, content, their next charity match — I don’t care. You name it and I’d be there.”
If you could pick the next dream YouTuber or streamer to use your music, who would it be?
Nbhd: “I’ve been fortunate to have a few of my favorite YouTubers and streamers use my music. I would say it now has to be MrBeast, along with a bonus invite to be in one of his videos. Hey — if you’re not dreaming, you’re not living, right?”
What was the creative spark or story behind I’m on Ten?
Nbhd: “We needed a record that felt like a high-energy sports anthem, so I made one. I grew up around sports and music, so this is my natural habitat.”
If I’m on Ten were a drink, what would it be and why?
Nbhd: “I’m not sure, but ten of anything could put you down for a couple days. Maybe I’d call it ‘DND,’ ‘cause after you drink it…do not disturb, haha!”
When you’re “on ten” in real life, what are you doing?
Nbhd: “Whether I’m being the best dad or the best husband or the best artist…regardless of what I’m doing, if I continue to lean into life as it comes to me, I’m forever on ten.”
Your track is now part of internet pop culture. As an artist, how does that feel?
Nbhd: “It’s fulfilling. We all have a purpose, and internet pop culture just confirmed mine.”
