At only seven short tracks, 'Golden Skin' has very little wasted space or energy. The brevity contributes to the cohesion, allowing Sarah to hold tightly onto the specific mood she sets. It’s a complete thought, and the vibe it conjures is vivid and glamorous enough to induce pangs. With off-beat meter-shifting, loop-upending false starts and jump cuts, subtle slow-build dynamics, and double-back surprises, it leaves you wanting more, but at least it leaves you wanting.
